Hi! I’m Dee, founder of Dieting With Ease, Welcome!

I have definitely struggled with unwanted weight gain throughout my life. I’ve been on more diets than I can count. I have even taken unhealthy shortcuts to lose weight at a faster rate.

But eventually, I realized I had to figure out a more healthy and sustainable approach to weight loss.

And this is where my love for researching all things weight loss began! I took nutrition courses and earned a certification as a nutrition coach. I got really good at figuring out what worked for me and what didn’t.

But then I noticed something. As time passed, it was harder to maintain my weight, and when I did gain weight, it was much harder to lose. It seemed like my metabolism was slower with every year. This was extremely FRUSTRATING!

I’m not sure if I somehow thought my metabolism would stay the same as it was in my 20s. Perhaps I thought the slowing of one’s metabolism, which I had heard about many times, wouldn’t affect me, but it did.

I had to look at weight loss holistically!

So, once again, I needed a new approach. Up until this point, my main focus was on calories in vs. calories out and ensuring I was in a deficit when trying to lose weight. But now I needed to focus on other things as well.

I had to take a holistic approach. I now had to focus on managing my stress levels, getting enough sleep, and eating certain foods proven to burn more fat and help keep hormones like cortisol in check.

Focusing on whole foods and balanced meals kept me fuller, allowing me to eat less and providing my body the needed nutrients.
And NO, I’m not saying eating certain foods alone will magically result in weight loss, but they can help. I believe when you feed your body the right foods, everything works better, including your metabolism.

So why focus on metabolism?

Because a faster metabolism makes weight loss easier. And finding ways to increase your metabolic rate can be extremely helpful, especially when faced with a slower metabolism. And this is where Dieting With Ease comes in.
